R & D Electronics is a proudly South African, owner-run manufacturer of light dimmers, established in 1997. With 30 years of experience in the light-dimming design industry, we combine practical expertise with a strong focus on quality, reliability and innovative lighting solutions.

Based in Montague Gardens, Cape Town, we design and manufacture domestic and commercial light dimmers for a wide range of applications, including standard incandescent, low-voltage and LED installations. Every product is built at our Cape Town factory and distributed nationwide through established electrical wholesalers.

We work closely with OEM LED manufacturers and distributors, developing and supplying dimming solutions that complement modern LED lighting technology.

This close collaboration gives us valuable insight into the latest LED products and technologies, allowing us to develop solutions that address real-world compatibility and dimming requirements.

As a hands-on, owner-run business, we pride ourselves on providing personalised technical support and practical industry knowledge. Our wiring diagrams and technical specifications are available to electricians, contractors and consulting engineers, while our technical support is provided by the same people who design and develop our products.
